Sneak Peek of 2025

First of all, Happy New Year! Yes, I know it is almost the end of January, but I have been busy this month due to work. And technically, there is no defined rule on when to stop saying “Happy New Year” (besides, Chinese New Year is pretty soon for those that celebrate it). Anyway, I thought that this month’s post would take a look at what is in store for 2025. Usually, I do a review for the end of the year but I never did a post looking at the year ahead. Well, I did do a post about turning 25 a few years back, but that was more personal reflection on getting older rather than looking ahead at the year overall. Therefore, I thought I would give you guys at sneak peek at some of the future blog posts that might be coming out, as well as the latest MCU projects to come out this year (along with other movies I would like to see). Keep in mind that this is only a snapshot of what is to come. As we all know things might change along the way, so anything I say may or may not happen. I will try my best to stick to what I say is on this post, but that is basically life where things happen out of nowhere. The best part is that when I do my year-end review for this year, I could use this post to compare what actually happened, and what didn’t. As always, be sure to keep up with this blog by following @pressure.shock on Instagram. That is the only social media handle this blog has, so no need to worry about a potential TikTok ban (since I obviously don’t have that app).

For my blog, I will try to keep my posting content mainly the same with one post a month. However, there may be a couple months where I need to take a break. The reason is that my new job that I started recently is going to get busier. I work at an accounting firm now, and with the upcoming tax season, the office is going to be pretty hectic. That means I have to work overtime for a few months, and even working some Saturdays. Once tax season is over, things will hopefully get slow and will try to focus on posting content regularly. I will be giving an update on my new job sometime, and I hope to stay in this job longer than my last one. Just hope that it doesn’t become a toxic work environment especially during the upcoming tax season. Going off of that, my main passion is still mental health, so I will be making some posts dedicated to that topic. I even picked up a hobby that I started last year which partially supports my mental health, so I will try to make a post on that. Other potential topics for this year include: another satire post, a post on the animation industry, (hopefully) a review on Tina: The Tina Turner Musical that is coming to my hometown, and I will try to do a full ranking on all Taylor Swift albums. I will also be making a couple posts about some personal things that happened recently that I have been keeping to myself, but will publish when I am ready. Also, this isn’t a new blog post but I will be updating my Elphaba vs. Scarlet Witch post by including stuff from Wicked part one. And of course, I will continue to post Marvel blogs as well which I will go more into.

Marvel this year has a bunch of projects in both TV shows and movies. Depending on when this post comes out, there will already be a new Spider-man animated show called: Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-man. This show is not canon to the MCU Spider-man, so it is going to follow a different Peter Parker with his superhero origin being slightly different. Then the following month, we are going to get a new MCU film, Captain America: Brave New World. This originally had a different title, and went through a ton of reshoots which caused many delays for this film. Despite all that, I just hope the movie does well considering how Marvel is focusing on creating quality over quantity in their projects. The following month, there will be another show, DareDevil Born Again. This is actually a reboot/continuation of the Marvel Netflix show (now on Disney Plus) that follows Matt Murdock as he goes through life as a lawyer by day, and crime fighter at night. In fact, this show gave me a better understanding of blind people which helped me at my last job. After that there is another Marvel movie coming out called The Thunderbolts, along with the new Fantastic Four movie in the next couple of months. Other MCU shows slated to come out this year include: Ironheart, Marvel Zombies, Eyes of Wakanda, and Wonderman. Again, not sure when they will exactly be released as things often get moved around and delayed which did happen to all of these projects I mentioned. As you can see, Marvel has a jam-packed year with shows and movies. Hopefully most of these do really well either in the box office or show ratings after having a pretty successful year with Deadpool and Wolverine and Agatha All Along, and in anticipation of the next two Avengers movies. As you might have already guessed, there will soon be another MCU film review continuing with Phase 5.

As for non-Marvel movies, there isn’t much to see except for the second part of the film version of Wicked which will come out later this year. I know I am a Marvel fan, but I am interested in the new DCU which is led by James Gunn (most known for the director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movies). I did see the first DCU show, Creature Commandos, and I would like to see the new Superman movie if I get the chance. Depending on how well Superman does well in the box office, that will persuade me to explore more of the DCU. Other than that, it is mainly Marvel stuff I mostly would like to see unless something interesting comes out that I don’t mention in this post.

That is a sneak peek of what is to come this year for this blog, and movies/TV shows. I know last year was really difficult for me personally. However, based on the current outlook on our country I feel like this year is going to be equally difficult. But no matter, I have been through difficult times in the past, and got through them. I am pretty sure that whatever happens this year, I hope to conquer and survive. Yeah, if I had a word to describe this year, it would be surviving. Eventually I will work up to healing, but for now I am working on trying to survive this entire year. Speaking of which, I am sure all of you are probably aware right now that at the beginning of this month there were terrible wildfires in the Los Angeles area. Despite LA being the place of celebrities and many movies being made, it was very devasting to have this happen especially a couple years after the wildfires in Maui. Once again, many people had to evacuate, lost their homes, and some lost their lives. I know I don’t have a connection to LA, but I feel in my heart to speak out after another wildfire disaster. Therefore, I will end this post by including a few links where you can donate to support the LA wildfire relief. There are also hundreds of other places, resources to donate to wildfire relief, as well as many volunteer opportunities! Most of all, let’s try to be kind to one another and take care of ourselves. You got this, we will survive this year together!
