My Bucket List

As I was coming up with ideas for my holiday blog post series, I came across several websites that listed ‘holiday bucket list’ as one of them. Back in high school before graduating, I made a bucket list, but since then my priorities have slightly changed. Today, I will be sharing a revised version of it. Now, this isn’t holiday-themed according to the websites, this is more of a general list because I want to accomplish those things during the rest of my life. If you haven’t made a bucket list before, I strongly recommend making one because it can help you set goals and aspirations for the rest of your life. Plus, we don’t know how long we have left to live, so it is best to take those opportunities when we have the chance (especially after the pandemic when a lot of plans were put on hold).

1. Travel more

I know this is at the top of everyone’s bucket list, but there is something special about traveling when you actually do it. For me, traveling is not only seeing new places, but it is also getting out of my comfort zone. When I was younger, the only trip I ever took was the Big Island of Hawaii. However, that was a class trip, and it was still in my home state since there are total of eight islands. It wasn’t until my senior year of high school as I was getting ready for colleges, and traveled to the continental US for the first time. I know it was pretty hectic at times, but that didn’t stop me from deciding to attend an out-of-state school. Since then, I have made the best memories, and proved myself that I could do anything. I even traveled outside of the country by studying abroad. Now that pandemic restrictions are gone, I want to travel to other places around the world like New York, Italy, Japan (again), Las Vegas, etc.

Avengers' Campus at Disneyland

2. Visit Avengers’ campus at Disneyland

I have been to Disneyland before, but that was before Avengers’ campus opened. When I saw the grand opening, I thought it was coolest thing ever. Besides Marvel has become one of the biggest franchises in movies and shows, and they are lucky Disney bought the rights. I would love to visit the campus and meet a lot of the MCU heroes because they always have fun interacting with the guests. They even bring out new ones whenever a new Marvel Disney Plus show releases. The character I want to meet at Avengers’ campus is the Scarlet Witch. I also heard from the D23 Expo that there will be this new ride that involves a crossover with a lot of the MCU heroes and a variant of Thanos!

Super Nintendo Land at Universal Studios

3. Visit Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios

Staying on the topic of amusement parks, another cool theme park attraction is set to open next year at Universal Studios Hollywood. Super Nintendo World

is a recreation of the Super Mario Bros. franchise paying homage to all the Mario video games. I have seen videos of photos of the attraction and it looks amazing! Besides Mario has become a popular icon all over the world, not just Japan. The franchise itself will be bigger when the animated film comes out next year! My brother has played a lot of the Mario video games, and I have played some as well. Heck, I even dressed up as Mario for Halloween twice. It is no question as to why I want to visit this attraction the next time I get a chance to visit Universal Studios.

4. Try cooking delicious food

As an adult, one of the most important things to learn while surviving is obviously, how to cook. I am not just talking about heating something up in a microwave, I mean like using pots and pans and creating something. I already know how to make a few pastas, and I even made a salad for Thanksgiving dinner. However, I want to go beyond that and make other complex dishes. Heck, maybe I could try baking because I love eating a lot of sweet baked goods. This doesn’t count as cooking, but eventually I also want to do a food blog (in addition to doing this blog).

5. Meet a celebrity

Even though I am an introvert, and a little anxious at this, I actually want to meet a celebrity. I am not sure how I will meet one, but if I ever spot one, I am not going to stalk them and take a random photo. I have seen fan pages where there are photos of celebrities doing mundane things like going to a grocery store, and that is a little creepy. Celebrities are humans, just like us even though they are among the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. However, if there is ever like a special event with a celebrity guest appearance, maybe that will be my chance. For now, it seems like a one in a million chance of happening, which is why I put it on my bucket list. I just also hope that when I meet one, they are nice and kind because there is a saying, “never meet your heroes,” and we know how that goes.

6. Get an Australian Shepherd dog or meet one

In the distant future, I kind of want to own a dog, but I am not too sure which breed I want. The one I mostly have my eyes set on is an Australian shepherd. It all started when I saw the Instagram page of a Youtuber, and they had an Aussie. Since then, I tend to look at multiple Instagram pages of Aussies. The things I love about Aussies is that they have great personalities, and most of them don’t have tails, so they shake their butts, which is so cute. The only concern I have about them is that they have a lot of energy meaning they need to get a lot of exercise. I am not sure what my living situation will be, and I am not sure if it will fit the lifestyle of an Aussie. Therefore, if I can’t own one, I hope to meet one.

7. Become fearless

The reason why I put this on my bucket list is that most of my life, I’ve been anxious in a lot of situations which causes me to stress and overreact a lot. Even though I haven’t been diagnosed with anxiety, it is still a problem to me as it hinders me from achieving my goals and doing my best. Therefore, if I learn to become fearless and push through my anxiety, I will be able to do all the things listed above. I have already worked on this in a few situations like studying abroad during college, during the pandemic shutdowns, and even at my last job. Now, I just have to continue that momentum by working through my challenges while dealing with the anxiety.

That is what is on my bucket list so far. I hope to add more things to it as I go on. I felt like this was a good activity as a way to set my goals. Hopefully I can achieve all of this while I have a job. If you already made a bucket list, there might be things from here that are similar to yours. If there is something you want me to add to my bucket list, feel free to DM me on Instagram @pressure.shock or contact me here.
