Welcome to my holiday blog series! First of all, apologies that this is coming out later than usual. Things have become very busy this time of year, so I am trying my best to pump out these holiday posts before the season is over while also supporting my mental health. We kick off the series with a Top-5 list of things I hope to get for Christmas. Before going into further detail, a majority of this list falls in the Marvel franchise. What can I say, I love Marvel, and they seem to have the best merchandise hands down. Although I am not sure if books count as merchandise because that is what half of this list also contains. Without further ado, here is my top 5 things I want for Christmas:

1. Marvel Studios MCU timeline book
Any Marvel fan knows that almost all MCU movies and shows are connected to each other in the same timeline. Yes, there is the traditional route watching each movie/show by phases, but some may also wonder when they take place chronologically. On Disney Plus, there is a section where they arranged the projects in timeline order, but it isn’t quite accurate. Finally, there is an official book that explains in full detail of the entire MCU timeline. This almost feels like the Bible of the MCU, and it does not disappoint. Personally, I like watching things in chronologic order when they are connected. Please note that this book only covers projects up to Phase 4, but it will be interesting to see how things change with the current MCU phase 5 and 6 upcoming projects. Maybe there might be a Vol. 2 of this book, but who knows?!

2. MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios
This one is interesting because it tells the inside story of the company from its early beginnings to what they are now. It features many interviews from producers, actors, directors, and writers that talk about what went on behind the scenes of Marvel. I feel like this book, and the MCU timeline book tell both sides of the story. One book shows the film aspect that audiences see, and the other gives full disclosure of how a cinematic universe came to be including why certain decisions had to be made. I am interested in this book because I want to know how it compares to Marvel Studios today. As many of you know, Marvel is going through many ups and downs with their current slate, releasing hundreds of projects that are mostly lacking in quality. Some of it is due to the overload of the VFX artists, who have decided to unionize during the writers and actors strike this year.

3. Scott Lang: Look Out for the Little Guy
Ant-man the Wasp: Quantumania may have been a bit of a disappointment, but one of the highlights of the movie was Scott Lang’s autobiography. It was so iconic, that it is now an actual book. The reason that it is on my list is because I am interested to see how Scott recaps his time as Ant-man from his point-of-view such as, during the event of Avengers: Endgame. Plus, it might give me some inspiration and motivation. It would also be cool to have a real-life prop from the MCU. If I do end up getting this book for Christmas, I might do a book review on it for a future blog post!

4. Matt Murdock Funko Pop
Anyone who is a fan for pop-culture or anything nerd will definitely have a collection of Funko Pops. They have been very popular recently, especially with MCU characters. I currently don’t have a collection of Funko pops because it would cost a lot of time and money to search for Funko characters from past MCU projects. However, if I were to have any, I want a Funko pop of Matt Murdock aka Daredevil. To be honest, I have started to watch some of the Marvel Netflix shows on Disney Plus, including Daredevil. But the real reason I want this particular Funko is that my current job involves interacting with clients that are blind/visually impaired (I will explain in more detail later). And there is no blind/visually impaired MCU hero that is more iconic than Matt Murdock himself. If I were to get this Funko, it will sit on my desk, and he will be like my mini assistant! After all, he is a really great lawyer!
5. Money
This is a no-brainer because it seems like the world revolves around money especially most recently due to inflation. Personally, I would be grateful to have money for Christmas because adulting isn’t getting any easier. Besides, if I don’t get any of other things on my wishlist, then I could use the money to buy them myself. However, this is a bit of reach since I am at the age where I no longer receive Christmas cards filled with money. The only other option is either gift cards or a pay raise (hint, hint).
There you have it, my top 5 things on my Christmas wish list! Fingers crossed that I get most of these. Santa, I hope you are reading this assuming you got internet service on the North Pole. Be sure to stay tuned for more posts in my holiday series!
